Spring Cleaning Checklist for Your Car
The weather is finally improving, and there are few things as enjoyable as cruising around the neighborhood in your car. However, with the weather shifting so drastically, your car may need to be prepared for the new season. That’s why it’s a good idea to do some spring cleaning on your vehicle before you start driving. But where do you begin?
How to Prep Your Car for Spring
Here are a couple of things you should check as part of your car spring cleaning regimen.
Tire pressure
Temperature can cause drastic changes in your tire pressure, especially in the winter. When spring rolls around, it’s a good idea for you to check your tire pressure and make sure they’re all fully inflated. A rotation may also be in order.
Battery
In the winter, the cold weather may cause your battery to work harder and function more slowly. Have your battery checked and possibly replaced after a particularly rough winter.
Headlights
Did you know that your headlights can get fuzzy and dim during the winter as well? Check your headlights and consider using a toothbrush and a water-baking soda solution to polish them. In the event that your headlights still look dim after this method, we recommend that you have your lightbulbs replaced.
Fluids
After the winter, you’ll want to have all your vehicle fluids checked. This includes oil, brake fluid, windshield wiper fluid, and much more.
Interior
Take a vacuum and get deep into the corners of your car’s interiors. This kind of cleaning should be done on a regular basis, but we tend to let our cars get a little messier during the winter.
